Here is how to bypass highly calibrated cyber-security walls with cold email
I spoke with a deliverability expert as I was not inboxing with large organisations and wanted to know how to do, or even if it was possible. He gave me gold and I thought I would share what I learned...this works.
So a lot of you who send cold emails will opt to run LinkedIn outbound if you are aiming to engage large companies.
Why?
Your emails are always getting blocked, because these organisations spend $1000s and $1000s on cybersecurity services to stop unsolicited emails from getting through.
As we know LinkedIn outbound isn't a great space to be in and you have to be super careful. LinkedIn is clamping down on high-volume senders.
The top cyber-security inbox defenders are Barracuda, Mimecast and Proof Point. Just like we do, they use AI to stop unsolicited emails getting into inboxes (cold email) but they know about players like Clay and the personalisation ability it gives you. So they now analyse the repetition of structure, sentiment and direction in your emails.
Step 1: Build a really great and genuine offer...don't push for meetings
👉 Do not pitch slap these people, actually write something they would want to reply to that isn't intrusive or just annoying. Don't try and request meetings people don't like this, strive to serve not to sell + you need baller copy and a great offer.
Step 2: Turn off MX Matching
👉 No human will send 1134 emails from Google to Google and 2442 Outlook to Outlook. This is theoretical, but I would like to say it makes sense.
Step 3: Variate the Sentiment of your Email
👉 As seen in the video, each cold email has a predictable and similar structure. Move the sentiment around using the A/B function and say your emails differently.
Step 4: Spintax the life out of your email
👉 No human sends the same line 13432 times in a row over a week. Make each email look as if it was crafted uniquely, over spintax these emails more than you would engaging smaller organisations.
Step 5: Be compliant, follow the highest rules of CANSPAM and ensure you meet all of these criteria. Include opt-outs, business addresses, real people emails etc.
p.s.
You can actually see the MX records of each company via Instantly.ai, Smartlead or a tool like BounceBan (Verify risky emails without sending messages).
